Alpaca Show Results 2006 PDF Print E-mail

We tested the waters last year but this show season was our first serious effort at learning the process of showing the alpaca. We didn’t have many offspring last year.  Most of our purchases have been maidens so the selection for this years shows was limited.  We felt our best chances were with a few auction animals and several juveniles that we’ve had here at the farm so far.

We really did better than expected.  Since we didn’t think we had any serious contenders, we decided to only attend West Coast shows and not put any of our choices through the trials of an extended road trip.  We settled on three shows – The International Alpaca Odyssey, Alpacapalooza and The Alpaca Western Extravaganza.  Here are the results-

Columbia's back home now and relishing the green pasture grass. Her blue ribbon at Nationals tops off a very successful year for her. 2007 show season as a yearling should be an interesting one.

Jack and Kelly are also showing some of the first SNOWMASS ICE DANCER offspring this year.  We bought Ice Dancer from them at the Parade of Champions auction last July.  His cria are showing well.  While at the AWE show we learned that all that were shown received a blue ribbon. Here is the show record for Ice Dancer's juvenile offspring.
